Your Mom Skills Equal Business Success
Many women today wish they could be work at home Moms so that they can be home with their children. Can your Mom skills help you run a successful business? You bet they can! Your Mom skills are your best asset and will serve you well to start and become successful at building your own business.
You are already run very important corporation your home and family! You organize schedules plan events make sure food and household supplies are stocked manage the budget and a multitude of other tasks every day. As a woman and a mom you have unique talents and skills these transfer over to running a business quite nicely!
Before you became a mom you probably worked went to college or university. You may have worked in an office or in as a sales clerk in a store. Whatever skills you had as a single woman became the foundation for your skills as a mom. Consequently what you learn as a mom directly relates to what you learned long ago and when combined can be transferred into other areas of your life including having a direct selling career.
I was thinking about my own mom skills today and which ones transferred into business skills for me. I bet most of them will for you too.
Do you love learning? If you are the type of Mom who enjoys learning new things and how to be a better parent you’ll find this is an asset to your business. It seems like there is a lot to learn when you are starting a new business but if you take small steps you’ll have it mastered in no time.
Do you look after the household budget? Your budgeting and money management skills will be a real asset to your business. If you don’t look after this area you really should learn the basics. After all you never know what the future holds and you might need to know this.
Do you organize your families schedules? Most women do so this will make you an expert in planning and organizing your business. Your business success depends on your making an action plan and fitting it into your schedule.
Are you a nurturer? Most women are born helpers so your caring nurturing side will enhance your customer service skills. You’ve probably dealt with some grumpy or unhelpful sales people in your day to day shopping so use that as an example of what not to do.
Do you like meeting new people? If you are a people person or crave some adult interaction a direct selling career could be the solution for you. It gives you the opportunity to get out and meet new and interesting people. Being able to talk to people and show an interest in them is a real asset.
These are just a few of your mom skills that can make you a business success story! If you have been thinking about starting your own business but didn’t believe you had the skills now you know that you do. Your dream of being a work at home mom could be a reality if you are brave enough to give it a try.

Belfast confetti is a poem about the aftermath of a IRA bomb by Northern Irish poet and translator Ciaran Carson. The poem won the Irish Times Irish Literature Prize for Poetry. The name of the poem derives from the nickname for the screws bolts and nails that were placed in IRA bombs as shrapnel. The shrapnel made the bombs much more lethal against people.
The poem reads:
Suddenly as the riot squad moved in it was raining exclamation marksNuts bolts nails carkeys. A fount of broken type. And the explosion.Itself an asterisk on the map. This hyphenated line a burst of rapid fire was trying to complete a sentence in my head but it kept stutteringAll the alleyways and side streets blocked with stops and colons.
I know this labyrinth so well Balaclava Raglan Inkerman Odessa Street Why can I escape? Every move is punctuated. Crimea Street. Dead end again.A Saracen Kremlin2 mesh. Makrolon faceshields. Walkietalkies.What is My name? Where am I coming from? Where am I going? A fusillade of questionmarks.
Carson uses punctuation as a means to convey the feeling of violence he feels that the scene creates. Metaphors include raining exclamation marks referring to chaotic screaming during the event nuts bolts and nails referring to shrapnel placed near the bomb intending to create more noise and damage his use of asterisks indicating an awkward and abrupt mark in the middle of the scene and the stops and colons which block his way presumably to reflect the feeling of being trapped in the middle of the riot. This could also be related to the fact that Carson himself suffered from severe claustrophobia a disorder that many inhabitants of Northern Ireland received as a result of the dozens of riots during the Troubles.

Streamlining Processes To Achieve Organizational Goals
In order to meet the organizational goals individual goals first need to be met. And meeting up with individual goals requires effective planning and streamlining of processes to finally lead the organization towards business success. Often change management is enabled and certain standards are adopted to fulfil goals. But before any activities are undertaken goals must be set out clearly. The goals should be such that it should yield profits and must be quantified so that they can be measured. It is difficult setting goals for each and every employee so certain specific or key result areas are defined where work can be set on targets to improve performance. The goals are also destined for a specific time period within which they need to be achieved.
Once the goals are defined certain methodology has to be adopted in order to streamline each process. The organizational goals are linked to mission statement so each employee should be made the importance of the mission statement understood. Each employee should set the individual targets from himself and work towards the individual objectives as set by his superior.
The key elements of any work commitment towards fulfilling individual goals and organizational goals should be the following:
- Prioritise key tasks and remain dedicated: All employees in an organization should prioritise his tasks in order to remain focused. The tasks in the order of priority should be taken up one by one and then persistence and dedication is required to achieve it.
- Focus on Team work: Although individual contribution from every employee is important unless there is team contribution an organization can reap profits. Those who work in teams and emphasize on organizational culture emerge out to be the winners.
- Enable good leadership role: The supervisors and managers should display effective leadership to lead the teams. One should lead by example. One must also adopt a good leadership style. Generally a supportive style of leadership is preferred by employees and is also beneficial to the organization.
- Good relations with clients: This is one of the most important area which should be build up with each passing day as the customers are stepping stone to success. If there are no users of your products you will not have any existence.
- Enable good quality of workforce: The quality of workforce has to be maintained in order to be successful. These are ultimately the backbone of any organization.
- Enable a sound organization culture and a learning organization: A good working culture goes a long way in realizing the organizational objectives.
These are some of the few strategies to achieving organizational goals. With the current industry atmosphere the need is to realign IT with other functional areas to achieve success.
