MLM Prelaunch Whats Behind The Pre-launch Mania?

One of the biggest hot buttons for a lot of people in just about every market imaginable is the word “new”. In network marketing that word seems to rivet people’s attention. Part of the attraction is the implied “fear of loss” because what is “new” today will not be new next month. So you’d better hop on it today or you may well be too late to make your fortune.

You find another word in MLM: “prelaunch”. If you just advertise these words with some idea that sounds even remotely possible and which has some nice bells and whistles it is likely to attract some good attention. The problem is most new businesses fail in their first 2 years. You might totally dedicate yourself to a new business but others won’t. As soon as they get a jug with the label upside down they’ll figure these guys don’t know what they’re doing and they’ll quit.

Every business needs time to iron out the kinks. Nothing goes just like you planned it. If you get in before they’ve got problems ironed out your people will get discouraged and it will be hard to keep them.

What is the solution?

Wait. If it’s a great opportunity when it’s new it will be an even better opportunity in 2 years because it will have established more credibility and trust with stakeholders. And most of the bugs will have been found and fixed. So it’s best to let the system get itself straight rather than jumping on that “new” bandwagon.

It’s the little things that really decide whether you have a chance for longterm success with any particular MLM company. This may sound pretty wild but trust me it is true. One decisive factor can be whether your company owns its own software. What possible difference can THAT make you wonder?

Well here’s how it works. Most companies when they start up are looking for ways to cut costs. They can cut expenses by renting the software to run the company. So instead of paying 1 million or more upfront maybe they’re spending 10000 a month on the software rental. So far so good; but a couple problems can come up. For one thing every compensation plan is different. They often find out too late that you can’t change the software to handle compensation plan changes. So if the company finds a great new gizmo to add it can’t … because it’s lockedin by the software. And second most of these contracts specify that the software vendor is a coowner of the database.

The result is if your company has tough times can’t make a payment the software vendor can rent out the database if they want … that includes all the names of the group you have built. Incredible but it has happened. You’re much safer with a company who owns their software.

Well Known Marketing Tactics Do You Know Them?

If you are new to the marketing scene you need to know some basics. Here is a brief guide to the most well known and most used marketing tactics that you also should be using. If you come across some tactics that you arent using start using them in your marketing materials as soon as possible to increase your sales and profits.

Tout your benefits not your features. This is a biggie! Features tell what the product does; benefits tell what the product will do for the consumer. Consumers want to know how your product or service will help them or will benefit them. People buy drills because they want to produce a hole it benefits them not because the drill has spirals a feature.

Use methods your competitors arent using
You might think hey their marketing materials worked so well for them I should do the same thing! Doing the same thing as your competitor is not going to work for you it works for them because its their thing. Come up with your own thing your own marketing strategy that works for you and your product. If poster printing works for them maybe flyers or brochures will work for you.

Use testimonials
Marketers use testimonials to garner trust from prospects. Consumers that havent used your product before wont believe it when you say you have the greatest product but they will believe someone else who says you have the greatest product. Testimonials are great because they can go on almost all of your marketing materials. From customer poster printing to your Web site testimonials can enhance any content. The important thing to remember is to get permission to use peoples quotes!

Break down your price for people. If your product is expensive and of course expensive is subject to opinion but lets say your product costs 300. Most people would gawk at that price and think your product is too expensive. But if you break down the price to less than 1 a day then people can see your real value in their daytoday lives and will be more likely to buy your product. Always break it down to the lowest increment that people can relate to.

Use functional headlines. All of your print materials need to have headlines. Why? Because most people wont take the time to read a whole brochure or flyer theyll only skim it. Headlines draw peoples eyes to the page and thats what they read first. Include benefits in your headlines to entice people to read the body copy or fine print. Thats what makes a headline functional when it offers the reader something of value and doesnt just sum up the text below it.

Include an offer. If you advertise your product or service without an offer theres really no reason to advertise. Your marketing materials need to give the consumer a reason to respond to your ad and an offer is the best way to do that.

Include a call to action. You need to tell consumers what you want them to do. A call to action is a commanding statement like Call now to order or Visit our Web site for a special deal. You also need to include any information needed to take action on your call to action.
